The Environment
Looking after where we live
Green and shared Spaces
We are blessed with some lovely green space in the local area, but there is, for some, a lack of pride in the appearance, and they are often targeted for vandalism by bored teenagers.
The financial hardships in the area has led to fly tipping becoming an issue, clean up can take time and then these areas are consistently targeted.

What can be done?
Environment matters. It matters for pride, for mental wellbeing, for health and for happy life living. Tackling these problems as a community is the best way to ensure we take ownership of our area, because it affects us all when its not right.
A sense of achievement can come in being part of the solution, instead of part of the problem, we believe our projects will help ensure that these issues do not recur.
In terms of larger environmental issues, Matters2Me CIC will be working hard to ensure that we are working to reduce waste, and recycle wherever possible.
Green issues affect us all, and we can only preach if we actually practice.
Local Skip Placement
We will work with the local housing association and the local council to provide skips in the most prevalent fly tipping problem areas. We will arrange for these to be placed, and removed once full.
Local Maintenance
One of residents biggest frustrations is when plants are placed and then not maintained. We will use local companies to help us when we can and using our community activities, we can involve our gardening club to help maintain our shared spaces.
Getting the Kids Involved
We will also introduce our youth groups to these activities and run regular litter picking events, For which they will be rewarded for their efforts and can learn to appreciate keeping our areas clean.
Member Requests
Our members can request problem areas to be addressed and we will do our best to achieve that, after consulting residents in the immediate area and address this with the organisation responsible for the land, before taking action.

All Inclusive and led by you
As Incentive to encourange Community Participation, we plan to run seasonal competitions, open to all.
Most importantly we will be led by you, because we think working together is the way forward.
